In an effort to continue to control costs related to outdoor ice, the Mahtomedi Youth Hockey Association will be responsible for flooding the outdoor rinks. Each team will have 1 night for flooding. 3-4 parent volunteers from each team should plan on 2-3 hours per flooding session. flooding begins around 9:00PM on Fridays and 8:30PM on Monday, Wednesday, and Sundays. Outdoor Rink Weather Policy
The Community Education Policy as published in their winter/spring guide is:
The opening of skating rinks and warming houses is dependent on the weather conditions. If temperature reaches -10 degrees real or wind chill, if snow accumulation is greater than two inches or a thaw causes a significant amount of standing water, the rinks and warming house will be closed. Please call 407-2020 to find out if rinks are closed due to poor weather.
