The opening of skating rinks and warming houses is dependent on the weather conditions. If temperature reaches -10 degrees real or wind chill, if snow accumulation is greater than two inches or a thaw causes a significant amount of standing water, the rinks and warming house will be closed. Please call 407-2020 to find out if rinks are closed due to poor weather.
In an effort to continue to control costs related to outdoor ice, the Mahtomedi Youth Hockey Association will be responsible for flooding the outdoor rinks. Each team will have 1 night for flooding. 3-4 parent volunteers from each team should plan on 2-3 hours per flooding session. flooding begins around 9:00PM on Fridays and 8:30PM on Monday, Wednesday, and Sundays.
